Penycae came to Overton on a good run of form but only managed to take 1 point home with them as Overton's resilliance paid off. Penycae opened the scoring from the spot after a dubious hand ball but they get givern and thats football!! and it remained 1-0 till half time but Overton had several chances to score with the keeper making various saves and handling the ball very well. Overton managed to get on the scoresheet in the 2nd half when they were to awarded a penalty that was dispatched by Sparky to level the score.Overton pressed but most crosses were caught by the keeper and last ditch tackles prevented some good breaks. Penycae to be fair also created some good chances but their finishing was woefull at times with 2 open goals missed but they re-took the lead only a few minutes after the equaliser after a scrabble in the area. Jimmy was beginning to get the better of his marker as the game wore on and with 5 minutes remaining he managed to fend him off to break free and slot the ball under the advancing keeper to make it 2-2, a score Overton were delighted with but not what Penycae needed. They will be there or there abouts by the end of the season as they have a team capable of winning big games, just not sure they will beat teams that battle with them!
