CLUB HISTORY
16 Jan 2007

Formerly known as Woodthorpe Inn Football Club the club adopted its current title in 1989 when they changed their headquarters to the Parkhouse Hotel, Danesmoor. The title was also an acknowledgement to the old Parkhouse Colliery and the many men that had worked there over the years and who too had a number of successful teams in the forties and early fifties by that name.

The club had a successful first season on the field winning the Chesterfield & District Sunday Football League, Division Seven. It was also a successful first year off the field when the club introduced their fund raising Tote Draw. The tote enabled the club to move forward in a capacity previously unknown in local football and it became, and still is, popular around the district.

The early nineties though proved a mediocre period for the club with them enjoying little success on the football front apart from securing the Clark Turner Shield in 1993. It was also in that year that the club purchased the field to become sole owners of the 3.4 acres. The sum of £8,000 was secured by four club trustees: Dave Clark, Ron Lunn, Wayne Watson and Mick Golding. The transfer of the land was finally signed over on 17 June 1993. This offered future security for the club.

Over the next three years further development took place that included fencing around the land perimeter, drainage installed, a brick store and dugouts. As runners up in Division Four in 1996 the club was promoted to Division Two and reached the top flight in the 2000/2001 season.

In that season the club reached the final of the Derbyshire Sunday Senior Cup and lost by a narrow 1-0 margin to Doe Lea F.C.

Saturday football was the next step and the club joined the Hope Valley Premier League in August 2002. During the three year spell in that league the club won four trophies and were twice runners up.

In August 2005 we switched the Hope Valley League for the Midlands Regional Alliance. We were place in Division Two for the first season and stormed to the championship. We also won the Junior Cup and the Derbyshire Divisional (North) Cup to make it a memorable treble winning season.

After promotion to Division One we became champions for the third consecutive season and Junior Cup winners for the second consecutive season.

Since that time we have adapted four porta-kabin's to accommodate changing facilities on the ground itself. In addition to this the popular 'Two Lisa's Sports Cafe' has a new menu for the new season and hope to see visitors old and new in the cafe before the game and at the half time break.

Our first venture into the Central Midlands Football League saw us finish mid table after a season that will be remembered for too many drawn games.

THE CLUB CREST
21 Jan 2007

The Club crest was introduced in 1998. Designed by Dave Clark and originally painted onto board by a mororcycle artist who specialised in murals on petrol tanks!
The full headgear of armour relates to the historic battles won by soldiers over many centuries to protect, serve and become victorious for their cause - showing the true fighting spirit that the club expects from its followers. The blue chevron depicts the clubs ambition to move forwards and upwards and the blue represents the main club shirt colour. The 1989 is clearly the year of formation. The two yellow centred roses identify us with our affiliation to the Derbyshire Football Association. The four links to the chain represent one for each of the trustees that purchased the ground and provided a secure future for the club. dave Clark, Ron Lunn, Mick Golding & Wayne Watson.
The football again simply identifies our club to the sport.
