PARKHOUSE hosted Alfreton Town, a new Team formed from the majority of players from a previous Matlock Rangers side, which had taken points in the league and knocking us out of the cup in past seasons.
PARKHOUSE on a dry day with the slight wind at their backs started slowly taking a while to settle into some kind of rhythm, when in the 11th minute a ball into the Altreton box was not cleared and slotted home for PARKHOUSE to take the lead. Chances were in short supply with Alfreton packing the defence but on 25mins C.Lytham again found a way through to claim his and PARHOUSE’s second. After a number of fine saves from the Alfreton keeper, once again the ball was not cleared and R.Walton finished on 35mins identical to PARKHOUSE’s first making the score 3-0.
As the sun emerged so did PARHOUSE for the second half, eager to extend their lead, however for all their possession PARKHOUSE took until the 65th min to score, when a great moved was finished off in brilliant fashion as K.Power slotted the ball home into the bottom corner beating the Alfreton keeper. Alfreton now resorting to Quick breaks on the odd occasion, could not find a way through the PARKHOUSE defence, but for all the further pressure PARKHOUSE generated they could not extend further the scoreline, coming closest by hitting the outside of the up right from a 20yard strike, making the final score 4-0.
