Report

Well the last game of the season was finally here and Parklands were invited to Woodford for an evening kick off on the Woodford 1st team pitch. This was a great experience for the lads as the ground has a nice two tier stand and changing room facilities. The pitch however was in a pretty poor state the rain and end of season taking its tole presenting really difficult playing conditions.

The Tigers held their own in the 1st half playing some really decent football, keeping possession and working the ball throughout the 3 rds. Conditions made it hard for players in particular who had the wrong footwear on (please take heed feelas and get yourselves some studs and moulds/blades. Mentioning no names get yourselves some cheap studded boots for the winter, flash multi coloured blades aint no use when playing in wet muddy conditions, they are as much use as a chocolate tea cup!!!!! ANd they rendor the player useless as you just cant get any grip!!!

However apart from the issue of some players looking like bambi on ice, we did create some chances and did score 2 goals in the 1st 1/2, one from a Gibbins bullet header and another after Fitzhugh was brought down in the box rewarding us with a penaltie which barford neatly dispatched 2v0. H/T Incidently out of all the pens barford has taken this season he has an unbeaten record and put every single one away.

The 2nd 1/2 Parklands started where they left off and were nearly 3 goals the good after Gibbins unlocked the defence but failed to beat the keeper when faced with the 1on1. Usually this  would have resulted in a goal such is the faith i have in G when in that situation but his shot was miss struck going agonisingly wide...

As the second 1/2 wore on it becoame apparent that Woodford started to take more control in the midfield and started to threaten. The tired looking Tigers started to fade and with only 10 mins remaining Woodford hit us with everything they had and scored 2 goals securing them a well earned draw.

Well done to both teams who put on a great disply dispite the poor pitch playing surface, mentions to Josh who had a great game and listened to instruction and was a real team player today. Kyle also had a great 1st 1/2 but came off injured after receiving a dead leg after a heavy challenge but really made an impact in the 1st half. Joe Barford for staying cool and dispatching another well taken Pen, i will have to check back over my reports but i know for a fact his penalty taking has been awesome this season.
