Our first league outing as an eleven a side team ended in defeat with us going down 4-2 to Monton. With the referee being one of a number of people who failed to turn up on the day the new look back four struggled against the pace of the monton front players and lost a goal to the opposition midway through the first stanza. After some harsh words at the break we came out fighting with J M showing some goodfootwork to force his way into the box only to have the ball nipped away but luckily the ball fell to JJB who's rocket almost burst the net and all this with barely a minute of the second period gone. From the kick off the ball was put back towards the Monton goal for CD to be brought down and from the resulting free kick JJB fired in another. After this we fell apart and the home side came back with 3 goals to win the game. The overall performance needs to improve if we are to get anywhere in this league, and on another occasion some of the 50-50 would have gone our way. But hopefully this was a lesson learned and we move on from here.
