The girls finished their season with a creditable second place in the Vale Red Tournament.  Once again the girls got off to an excellent start, with two victories against Vale Reds Scarlets and United MK which were based upon good distribution from the defence to set up excellent attacking inter play and passing between Kate, Kitty and Lisa.  It was especially pleasing to see the girls pass the ball into space.  Maybe they do listen to the coach on occasion!  Lisa's free kick against Vale Reds Scarlets was a real thunderbolt.

In their third match the girls were forced to defend extremely well against a physical City Belles team after another neat finish from Lisa had given us the lead.  Rhiannon and Sophia tackled and closed down brilliantly but City Belles managed to equalise with about 5 mins remaining.  The girls needed a draw to give themselves a real chance of winning the comptetion and hung on gamely until an unfortunate bounce in our area led to a handball and a penalty to City Belles.  The penalty was stuck high into the top corner but Amber produced an excellent save to turn the ball out for a corner a preserve the draw.

The girls went into a winner takes all final match against Vale Reds Crimsons and in an even contest were perhaps unfortunate to lose 2-0, the difference being two excellent pieces of finishing by the home team.

However, the performance completed an excellent end of season for the girls with two runners up performances and a win in the end of season tournaments.
