Pensilva football club origins trace back to around 1910 when a Charity was set up to provide Sports & recreation for the people of the village. After the first world War the team competed in the Liskeard and District League and then following the 2nd World War they entered the Launceston and District League and were runners up to altarnun. The clubs most prolific era came in the 1950's winning the Plymouth combination Tavistock section in 1952 and the Reserves winning the Launceston & District League the same year. In 52/53 they picked up the Isaac Foot Shield & E.K. Brown Cup. 53/54 saw us Win the Launceston Cup an interesting feat as Pens made the final 7 years on the trot this being the only triumph. The prestigious Junior Cup also was won in 53/54 beating St Agnes 4-2 and then 54/55 the cup came home again defeating Pendeen 4-3 aet. The Skews family had a large part to play in these proceedings with 4 players from the same family playing. Walter Pyne with 102 goals still holds the top goalscorer record from a season early in the 50's. the Bedford cup was won in 53/54 and 56/57 and then the club waited until 1963 to pick up the plymouth Challenge bowl defeating Brixton 3-0 at Home park. The seventies saw Pens in the Duchy League winning the Div 1 Championship in 1974/75 season and in 1977 they stepped up to senior status playing in the East Cornwall league for about 5 seasons. After a spell in the P&D League in the 80's they returned to Duchy League football, they came runners up in the Launceston cup in 1991/92 and won the St Austell Challenge cup in 1993. the next success came in winning the division 2 cup in 1998/99 and gaining promotion to Div1. 2 years later they gained promotion to the Premier league as runners up where they stayed until a demotion in 2003. The club won the St Breward cup in 2003/04 season and were losing Launceston cup finalists in the same year against morwenstow. the 2005/06 season ended well with victory in the Launceston Cup final 3-1 against Bude, success in the Div 1 cup beating Altarnun1-0 and gaining promotion back to the Premier League.
Pens have had several poor seasons since then finishing third from bottom in 2007/08 and 2008/09 and getting relegated in 2009/10 season.
