Phoenix United FC History
27 Aug 2009

Phoenix Utd were formed out of the merger between Beechams GSK and Phoenix FC. The origins of the club date back to 1982, when Jeff Gayler, Gordon Nute and Reg Brown formed Phoenix Football Club at the Maid of Sussex Pub in Three Bridges, Crawley. The side was predominantly made up of a group of lads who used to play together as Panda Juniors FC in the local Sunday morning Youth Leagues. Over the years the club has varied from between one and four teams with a fair share of success in the local Crawley League. The merger with GSK has provided a platform from which to progress to the next level and realise a long held ambition of playing in the County League.
With a strong youth section now in place running 8 teams between Under 8s and Under 15s, Phoenix United are fast establishing themsleves as one of the premier clubs in the local area.
