Junior Pikes History |
Pickering Juniors was formed in 1978 with two teams playing in The Ryedale League. They won their first honours in 1993/94, winning the R&SD Kettle Trophy.
During the past few seasons the club has progressed from 4 teams to 13 with a Saturday Club for under 8's. All teams play in the York & District Leagues. We have two girl teams Under 12's & 14's. Then we have boys teams ranging from the Under 9's through to the under 16's.
Pickering also has a Under 19's team and a senior team who play in the North East Counties League.
We are a Community Football Club, this allows us to apply for grants and other funding, ensuring a bright future for boys' and girls' football in this part of North Yorkshire.
In 2006 we became a feeder club for York City FC. at present we have 2 boys on their books Sam Burns who captains the under16's and Jonathan Reed who is an under 9 .We also have Jonny Birbeck at Leeds UTD. who is although an under14 he plays for the under 15's
