The name of 'Marjons' is synonomous with sport in the South-West. For many years, the college has built its reputation as an institution dedicated to quality PE teacher training, and in recent times this has extended to its portfolio of sports degrees now specialising in areas such as sport science, coaching, sport development, sports therapy and health. Central to the success of these courses is the relationship Marjon enjoys with its local community. The new PLYMOUTH MARJON SPORTS CLUB will see a new approach to the development of sport in the Plymouth area, with the football club actively involved in its delivery.

Marjon football teams have enjoyed much success in British University and College Sport (BUCS) competitions, with national trophies won at various times in their history. As part of the Plymouth Marjon Sports Club, the football club aims to provide a quality sporting experience to its academic and community members by utilising both traditional and new innovative approaches to player, coach and facility development, in order to become a major player in the local football landscape.
