THE CLUBHOUSE
Over the past couple of years it has been disappointing the small number of people who have hired the clubhouse for private functions.
This year we are making a determined effort to attract more hirers—this will be by advert in “The Potton Magazine”, which when printed will be delivered to every household in Potton, other adverts and we hope by word of mouth.
The clubhouse is ideal for parties up to 100, having its own self-contained bar and a separate area for serving food. It could be made available for wedding receptions during the summer months.

OTHER NEWS
Last season our average home attendance was 74, with the highest being at home to St Neots with 195. Raunds had the highest average with 93 and the highest attendance was Woodford Northampton Spencer with 223.
In Division One Wellingborough, who we play first game of the new season) had a surprising average of 327, and the highest attendance in that league was when 1150 saw Whitworths play at home to Wellingborough.
Last season Potton, along with 4 other clubs, had the most consecutive wins with 7 matches.
Last season Potton had longest run scoring with 32 matches.
Charles Wells Ltd has agreed a new three-year sponsorship of The United Counties League.
Our admission prices remain unchanged for this season.
THE HOLLOW
John Shipp and Bev Strong recently had a meeting at The Hollow with representatives of the FA to see what additional work was necessary if we were to be successful in making an application to join a higher league if we finished in the top three places in our league.
Some of these improvements included:
* Fencing the ground off
* Having turnstiles and having a tarmac car park near the clubhouse
* Larger dug outs with restriction on spectators standing behind and near them
* In the stand, which has sufficient seating, provision for allocated seating for visiting officials and provision for the press.
* Changes to the dressing room area, which had already been requested by the UCL.
There are others and John Shipp is submitting outline plans to the FA to ensure that we have interpreted their requirements correctly.
The next stage will be to cost it and then seek and raise funds to cover the cost. We will keep you informed.
GOAL SPONSORS
Last season our goal sponsorship for first team goals raised over £500. Anyone interested in sponsoring this year (minimum 10p per goal) should see any committee member.
ADVERTISING BOARDS
We could really do with some more advertising boards round the ground. The cost is a one off charge of £300, subject to design and artwork. Anyone interested should contact Nigel Westhorp or Bev Strong for details.
