The Ragged School was originally a soup kitchen for the underprivileged children in the centre of Swansea, A youth club was formed in this centre and the first football team was culled the RED TRIANGLE . When the club was reopened after the second world war in 1948 the football teamwas called Ragged School and we have been running ever since except for two years when we had to disband as nearly all the players were culled up for national service.We reformed in 1962 in the seventh division of the Swansea senior league. We were promoted in successive seasons and played our first season in the first division in 1968 and apart for thee seasons we have been there ever since, and have been there continually since 1976.
1972 Macpherson To Prescelli To Prescelli/Ragged

In 1972 Tony Blake work for a local super market Macpherson
and was ask to form a football team and put it into the Sunday
league.The team Macpherson A.F.C. was made up from boys that
work for the super market and some from outside.
At the end of the season we decided to form a Saturday club,
and when it came to a name, we cull it Prescelli after a street in
Penlan because five boys came from the street.
The first game September 2ed 1973 was Prescelli 6 v Wildflower 0, and the team was- PETER LYDIARD - EDDIE CANT -
MICHAEL NORMAN - GERRY SQUIBB - BRIAN EVANS -
JEFF LEWIS - WAYNE FROGETT - CLIVE SMITH ( Captain )
DAVID (Jock ) SQUIBB - MIKE WILLETT - JOHN COSTA -
DAVE WILLIAM.
HISTORY OF PRESCELLI AND RAGGED SCHOOL JUNIOR MERGER

In the junior football season of 2004-2005 Kevin Ryan started
a under 7s junior team for Port Tennant Colts. In 2005-2006 he had two junior teams under 8s and under 9s.In the season of 2006-2007 Kevin Ryan and the teams were unhappy at Port Tennant Colts, the two teams were supported by Ragged School to enable the young teams to continue.
After one season as Ragged School Tony Blake (Prescelli Colts)
approached Ragged School Chairman (Leighton Roberts) with the idea of merging the two clubs together to provide a complete new junior section to feed Ragged School Seniors.
So in the season 2007-2008 a senior and junior section was established that would benefit all concerned and provide a well run club that could welcome players from all around Swansea. The junior teams would be called Prescelli/Ragged and the seniors would remain as Ragged School, for the two clubs would not loses thair iidentity.
