Priory travelled the short distance To Godmanchester to participate in the first game of the new season. Within 30 seconds of the first half Bradley Winfield struck a 30 yard shot which the Godmanchester keeper did very well to tip over the bar . Priory continued to dominate possession and started to play some beautiful free flowing, passing football.
The rest of the half played out evenly, both sides had a few chances to go ahead but the pick of the bunch was a 25 yard strike from Nathan Arnold which rattled the crossbar.
The second half saw Godmanchester up the anti with a few good goal scoring opportunities but Priory debutante goalkeeper Lewis Cooke did what he needed to do to thwart the oncoming attacks.
The last 20 minutes saw the two sides battling to find a winner but none of the chances came to fruition.
The game finished at 0-0. An excellent start to the season for Priory who can take many positives from this performance.
