Ground & Buildings

Responsibilities [30 Nov @ 12:00am]

Grounds & Buildings does more or less what it says on the tin: the general upkeep, maintenance, health & safety, continuing improvement and future development of Pit Lane. There are four main areas of responsibility: The Pitches The Grounds - Surrounding Landscape & Car Park The Clubhouse Peel Hall

Current Activity [30 Nov @ 12:00am]

A few things happening over the coming weeks and months: New Trees planted by the Forest of Bradford New external signage including a large post sign at the top of Pit Lane which has been funded by a grant from the Queensbury Urban Village Partnership. Improved landscaping including the area immediately outside the clubhouse entrance Removal of the skip in front of the clubhouse to solve problem of litter. The skip will be replaced by a wheelie bin which will be collected weekly by Bradford Council. Clubhouse and changing rooms refurb completed. Not much to do on this but the work never got finished in time for the Official Opening.

Future Development [30 Nov @ 12:00am]

Our Chairman Arthur Peel and the Board are committed to improving the facilities and playing environment for all at Pit Lane. We already have a fantastic set up but will always aspire, plan and believe in better. Storage Building Storage is a major issue at the moment both for our pitch/ground equipment and for general storage. The future increased use of Peel Hall and need for new indoor equipment will only add to that problem. We have therefore drawn up plans to erect a new storage building which would run down the side of Peel Hall (drawing attached). This would not only eleviate the problem of storage but would also imporove the visual amenity with the removal of the unsightly cabins. The Big One New Clubhouse & Changing Rooms extension. An extremely ambitious project that would place Queensbury Celtic at the very pinnacle of junior football in West Yorkshire and a facility we believe our players, managers, parents, supporters and volunteers deserve. This will not be possible without major funding, not easy to get in todays climate, but we will remain optimistic and work tirelessly to achieve.
