Formed in 1965 as a pub team at the The Queens Head, Woburn St, Ampthill. Hence the name Queensmen.
At that time club rules stated all players had to live in Ampthill and games where played at Ampthill Town's ground at the park.
In 1968 Ampthill decided that two games a week was to much for the park pitch, and gave Queensmen notice to quit.
The club was saved by the then Club President, local bookmaker, Mr Ted Lawrence
whose financial backing enabled the club to buy the present ground, Lawrence Park. The club has acheived much success since and is now into its 43nd year!
This means we are probably the Oldest Sunday Team in the Country and certainly one of the only Sunday sides that own our own ground!
