Report

Queens Park Rovers finished the season in style as they demolished Stanmore Manor 7-0.

Rovers flew out of the blocks with a goal from Darren Joseph after 2 mins and they kicked on from there with a display of real killer instinct. The score could easily have ended up as double figures as Rovers dominated from first whistle to last.

Rovers were very steady at the back with Andrew Jackson continuing his excellent form with a clean sheet. Peter Bircham and Callum McCabe were as solid as ever as they reduced Stanmore to long range efforts and were spraying the ball around out of defence. Mark Keane was his usual dangerous self as he helped out defensively as well as in attack. Marcus O'Brien had an excellent game full of running and was also helping out all over the pitch. Darren Joseph was at his most clinical as he ran the Stanmore defence ragged and Jermaine Bussett was as busy as ever and he was a handful for the whole game.

Darren Joseph helped himself to another hatrick, Mark Keane grabbed 2 goals and Marcus and Jermaine bagged 1 each.

Overall it was a good season as Rovers finished runners up to Gleam Team. Had Rovers managed to play all of their games then they could have won the title as the 3 games they missed meant 6 points lost and 15 goals against them.

Peter Bircham won player of the season (again)

Darren Joseph won the top goalscorer award with an astonishing return of 17 goals in 5 games.

Andrew Jackson may have played his last game for Rovers as he embarks on 3 months travelling so new personel is needed for next season.
