HIGH HOPES DASHED

Randwicks reserve side with new manager Paul Fowles in charge went into 06/07 full of optimism after some strong pre season performances and a crushing 3-1 defeat of Coaley in the Charity Cup.

However the league campaign got off to a bad start when Quedgeley took all the points in a dour 1-0 win.

Inconsistancy plagued the reserves early season, but good character was shown snatching points at the death when defeat seemed likely.

As the team settled and took a regular shape with new signings Rob Snelling, Rob & Larry Curr, Mike Squire & Russ Hopes all growing into their roles performances improved and the reserves became a hard side to beat.

Boasting one of the best defences in the league, The reserves made head way up the league taking well deserved points off the league pace setters Ramblers & Barnwood.

However as the season drew to a close, momentum was lost, with key players missing, the teams performances started to dip and Randwick fell away to finish a comfortable 5th.
