A-Squad completed their final match of their summer fixtures with a fine display in their 5-1 success over Shelf Juniors at Carr Green School playing fields.
The match was well attended by both teams supporters on a very wet morning.
Rastrick's Isaac Mucci broke free to open the scoring with less than 2 minutes on the clock only for Shelf to pull a goal back from their impressive number 4 on 11 minutes. The scores stayed level at half time with Rastrick working hard to keep the visitors at bay with some tenacious tackling at the back by Kai Geddes, Daniel Rowley and an great reflex save from Ben Evans diving low to his right and diverting the ball for a corner.
A shuffle of formation at half time brought early rewards when Reece Welch added to the scoring (17) and Welch further advanced Rastrick's hold on the game with a well taken goal on 19 minutes. Further attacks by Oliver Sharpe and Archie Corcoran were thwarted by Shelf's goalkeeper but the result was confirmed when Mucci added to his earlier goal on 23 and 27 minutes to complete his hat-trick.
