A late phone call on Friday in which 3Ds conceeded the game resulted in the points and with it the league title going to Rastrick A.

If fans thought that this game would be as one side as the previous encounter where Rastrick were close to double figures, this was not the case with a Battyeford side that raised their game to a whole new level.  Although Rastrick had the majority of the play through the first half, this never materialised into any goals and it was only their good defensive work that thwarted Battyeford from scoring.

The 2nd half was equally tense until Dan Walsh powered the ball from a seemingly impossible angle into the Battyeford net.  This brought some confidence to the Rastrick team who started to pass the ball round nicely - a well worked move saw Matty Henigan take his usual place on the score sheet which he then repeated in the last 10 minutes to make the final score 3-0 to Rastrick which left them equal on points with Batley and needing just a point from the remaining 2 games.

The game was awarded to Rastrick as Challenge were unable to raise a team - this meant Rastrick had to get 4 points from the remaining 3 games to win the league.

These teams met just before the Easter break when Rastrick were comfortable winners in a one sided game at Carr Green and they continued very much as they left off through early goals from Scott McDonald and a pair from top scorer Matty Henigan.  The Westend defence was under constant pressure with Dom Thewlis hitting the post twice before getting Rastrick's 4th.  Both Danny Walsh and Josh Blaeford were impressive, had a number of efforts and were unfortunate not to find the net.  Just before half time Scott McDonald headed the 5th from a corner.

The 2nd half saw a few changes in formation with George Menaghan playing out of position up front hitting the bar and setting up further goals from Cameron Burnside and Blaeford.   Westend were unable to win or retain possession and Henigan's hat trick finished the game off.  The win and results elsewhere meant that Rastrick confirmed second place in the league, 3 points behind leaders Batley but with 3 games in hand.
