Rattrays XI won their first honour in 1953, when they were crowned champions of the newly formed third division.

The Ratts were also champions of the second division the following year, which meant our first crack at football in amateur division one. However, after just two seasons in the top flight, relegation back to division two came at the end of the 1955/56 season, and since then, there has only ever been one other season in the top division, which just happened to be in the club's 60th season - 2006/07.
