The Ashvale

When John M Low, chairman of The Ashvale Group, opened his first fish and chip take-away in Aberdeen in 1979 his intention was that it would be the testing ground that would allow him to achieve a long-held ambition to found a traditional fish and chip restaurant. He had always regretted the lack of a first class fish restaurant in his home town, one which would act as a vehicle to reflect the city's traditional links with fishing and its reputation for quality fish. As he said, "Scotland's major fishing port fully deserves a premier fish and chip shop". But in 1985 John M. Low eventually realised his dream when he opened The Ashvale Fish Restaurant in Great Western Road, Aberdeen- The Ashvale exceptional quality at affordable prices.
