RAUNDS TOWN FC
Raunds Town F.C. (established 1946) is a football club based in Raunds in Northamptonshire, England. Although the present club was founded that year there had been several local teams with Raunds in their name since the 1896/97 season. Prior to moving to their present ground at Kiln Park in 1991 they played at Greenhouse Field (1946-1948) and The Berristers (1948-1991). There is a club clubhouse with a bar which is open every weekday evening and all afternoon and evening at weekends. A function room is located next to the bar which can be hired for conferences or dinners.
They are sponsored from the 2006/7 season by Churchills Estate Agents and their club motto is "Play to Win". In the 2007-08 season, they are members of the United Counties Football League Premier Division.
On 6th September 2006 the club beat the non-league giants Enfield F.C. in the FA Cup Preliminary Round. A convincing 4-1 win over Buckingham Town F.C. in the 1st Qualifying Round saw them play Stratford Town F.C. in the 2nd Qualifying Round where they lost 2-1. There best run in the FA Cup was in the 1998/99 season where they reached the 4th Qualifying Round before being beaten by Enfield F.C. 2-0.
In the FA Vase 2006/07 1st Qualifying Round Raunds hammered Stansted F.C. 7-1 but were beaten 2-1 by Oxhey Jets F.C. in the next round. In the 1994/95 season they progressed all the way to the semi final of this competition.
In the league they finished a respectable 8th.
