Raunds Town Ladies were formed in 2004. Most of the founder players had played for Rushden Rangers in the Kettering and District Weetabix League at Under 13, 14 and 15 levels. In Rushden's 2004 season, both managers resigned mid season leaving the girls without a manager. David Reed and Steve York, parents of members of the team, stepped in to fill the gap to ensure the girls could finish the season and also to prevent anyone from receiving fines for unfilled fixtures. Despite their efforts and success at completing the season, the committee decided against entering the team into the Under 16 league for the following year. With nowhere to play, Raunds Town Football Club was approached, and they agreed to enter a Ladies team for the 2005/06 season. The leap from youth to adult fixtures meant more demanding games and some heavy defeats. Some players left the club but the remaining players battled on. The squad was now depleted to 11 players, but with injuries, some games were played with 8 or 9 players. At the start of the New Year, new players joined and the pressure began to ease and Performances Improve. The players who had been there from the beginning had learnt to be strong and with a now Full side every game, the rewards soon came. Before Christmas only one point had been picked up From 12 matches, but after Christmas, 13 points were earned. Although there was a huge negative goal difference from the first half of the season, the girls did enough to finish off the bottom. Season 2005/06 P 24 W 4 D 2 L 18 GD -112 Pts 14
Entering the 2006/07 season there was much hope for a better position in the league table come the end of the year. Save for a defeat in the second game of the season, it was an impressive start, earning 11 points in a run of 5 undefeated games. Defeats were fewer and less severe when they came, and every team was given a run for their money. No team managed the double - taking 3 points away from the game on both meetings. Bolstered by the confidence of performing well, the football began to improve and the play had more flair. After a long season, Raunds were given the rewards of their efforts with 5th place in the league, and a 42 points tally to show for it. Not only this, but recognition from the other teams in the league by earning 4 clubs of the month awards, half of all available for that season. Season 2005/2006 P 24 W 12 D 6 L 6 GD 25 Pts 42
Last season saw Raunds improve further, playing stronger and more establishe football and as a result attracted more players. Sadly the end result in the league table reste on the final game, sadly a last minute goal stopped Raunds from winning the game and achieving 3rd place. And instead undeservedly finished 5th same as the previous season. However all in all another season of developing football. Sadly the end of the season also saw the resignation of Raunds Town Ladies founder and manager for 3 seasons. Season 2007/2008 P 18 W 9 D 3 L 6 GD +7 Pts 30
