2010-11

What a great season 2010-11 has been for Raiders. We were able to build on a great squad from the previous year, with a few new players in a Raiders shirt, bringing valuable experience, knowledge and awareness to our game. We have built up a great squad over the past couple of years and have a brilliant bunch of girls, who are keen to do well and are eager to get back to pre-season training and prepare for next season.
This year, as previous years, we had entered both the Essex Women's League Cup and County Cup competitions, this year managing to make it through to a County Cup quarter final clash with South Eastern Combination League side Braintree Town.

Bad weather affected a lot of matches again this season with only two being played in November (including a very wet and incredibly cold game away to Clacton Reserves) and then none at all in December! But Raiders kept up the good work and trained all the way through keeping fitness levels and spirits high ready for the start of play in the new year.

The season ended with a pleasing fourth place spot, leaving us amongst four strong sides all of which also have first team squads. It has certainly been our strongest season so far as Raiders, having secured 13 wins 60 goals and 40 points out of the 20 league games. We have gained valuable experience this year and are hoping to go from strength to strength and do even better in the 2011-12 season, who knows we could even be looking at promotion : )

As last year, Raiders Ladies and Girls joined forces to hold their end of season celebrations. A presentation night with Trophies, Awards, DJ, food, a raffles and lots of dancing in a fun and friendly atmosphere, The night was enjoyed by all, with Keith keeping up tradition by showing off his dance moves and getting everyone on the dance floor to join in : ) Thanks to all involved in organising the evening and making it such a success.
