Today’s Real BTS play in the Premier division of the Colchester & District Sunday Football League. The name comes from its Sponsor BTS group based in Needham Market and is owned by Hal McCallum.
The club was first formed back in 1999 and was known as Denny Wanderers only one player from that time still plays for the club. Lee Isom.
In 2001 the club name was changed to Allstar Quilters, this was due to a new sponsor. In that first season as Allstar Quilters the club gained promotion from division 6 and scored over 100 goals.
2002 proved to be a good year also not only did the club again attain promotion they also appeared in two Cup finals- Thornavon in which they lost 6-0 to Pegasus and the Ernie Osbourne in which they beat Knights Allstars 2-1. However there was a downside to the season Captain Craig Isom was signed by Pegasus for the following season.
2003 saw the club promoted again.
2004 the structure of the leagues was altered which enabled the club to rise to division 2. During the 2006-07 Season Real BTS played 18 league games without losing any, along the way to winning the Second division also picking up the Fowler Cup and the much coverted Essex Sunday Junior Trophy beating Noaklands 4-1 in the final. Promotion into the First division Which is the division in which they play today.
The club’s 1st Team manager is Malcolm Isom and he believes with the squad of players he has the club is going in the right direction and some hard work and dedication the Team can finish inthe top 3 of the Prmier League.
2007/08 The club have achieved everything they set out to do at the begining of the season. Becoming first division champions and gaining promotion to the Premier league. well done to all the boys!
The Reserve Team Manager is Mike Gosling the Team were promoted into Division 5 last season, with new players coming into the side. Mike hopes that the team will be able to build on last seasons success and be in the top 3 at the end of the season vying for promotion
