Originally formed in the 1994/95 season by Mr W G McGeough, Redcar Town Football Club started from humble beginnings and involved just two teams at under 11′s. The following year this was reduced to just one team competing in the under12′s.
In 1997 Billy Prest joined the club and plans were laid to develop the club and expand the player, coaching base of the club. This led to the forming of what undoubtedly was the most important decision the club has made to date, the formation of the Saturday Club.
Posters were printed and displayed throughout the town, to everyone’s surprise the first session held at West Redcar School attracted over 100 kids. This has proven to be the lifeblood of the club continuing to produce a regular supply of talent to enable the club to continue to develop season after season.
In 1998 the new improved Redcar Town Football Club was unleashed upon the local league, the Teesside Junior Football Alliance (T.J.F.A.). The 1999 season saw us, with the help of the then Council Leader Brian Roberts, move our base to Borough Park on Redcar Lane.
A vote of gratitude to the coaches whose hard work and commitment made the Saturday Club and therefore Redcar Town FC such a success. They are Billy, Michael and Dave Prest, Steve Reveley, Chris Nickolson and Mark Heggie all who played an invaluable part in our progression.
In 2007 the Club in joint partnership with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and secured a £420,000 grant from the Football Foundation, to be spent on the development and new 6 room changing facility at the Trunk Road site Dormanstown.
After many years of competing in the T.J.F.A. league, Redcar Town FC had the honour of being voted TJFA Club of the Year 2003 and more recently we were given the prestigious award of North Riding County FA Chartered Development Club 2009 and 2011.
Season 2009/10 has seen the opening of the long awaited Club house at Mo Mowlam Memorial Park, Trunk Road, Dormanstown, the new home of Redcar Town Football Club. The Club currently has 17 boys teams from U7′s up to U18′s.
