Report

Revolution finished their season with a hard fought victory against FC Straws. On a very windy day at Shrub End, Rev played with the wind in the first half and went in to the break 2 goals to the good. Patty got his name on the score sheet after Smudger-s long throw bounced over a straws defender-s head to find him unmarked at the back stick he had time to take a touch and then strike the ball across the -keeper and in to the corner of the net. Rev then went two up after more good work from Smudger on the left, who-s cross was headed in from close range as Clive got in front of the Straw-s stopper.
James who alledgedly hadn-t played in goal before produced some great saves to keep Rev in front.
In to the 2nd half and the wind seemed to pick up a little more and Rev were under the cosh! Straws halved the deficit when a free kick was headed in at the back post. James continued to amaze in goal when he made a fine save when the straws player (who was clearly offside)! went clean through only to be denied. Straws continued to worry Rev from corners and free kicks and came close when they hit the post, but Rev managed to resisit and came away with the three points.
MOTM James for his suprisingly brilliant display in goal, looks like we-ve got a -keeper for next season!
