Our new, very young reserve team finally had there first run out this weds in what turned out to be an impressive display. Considering none of these lads had played together before, they settled extremely well and played some eye-catching football. The ambition of the night was not necessarily the win but mainly to get the lads to know each other a little better, the fact that we did end up with the victory with a goal from Rhys Owen, was great credit to the team. With a squad of over 25 lads if was difficult to assess everyone-s performance but all the players did their jobs and expressed themselves, which is exactly what we-re looking for this team to do. Player development are the key words this season and Im sure from just watching last night, several of these players will be pushing for first team spots by the end of the season or before!
