We weathered an early storm from league leaders Earls Barton before starting to impose ourselves on the game.
From our first real attack skipper Ryan Pye spread the ball out to Jamie Lovell, who hit a ball through the 'corridor of uncertainty' for Cameron Mason to roll home. Mason's 19th goal of the season.
I expected Earls Barton to hit back but that never really happened and Pye hit the bar from a great corner from Lovell.
Then injuries hit us. Anthony Hill came off for Jake Evans after suffering a blow in the face and Fraser McKay started to struggle.
Evans went close after a good run though and we finished the half on top.
Luke Addis came on for the stricken McKay as we started the second half in the same manner, forcing Earls Barton back.
Ellis Spencer in goal was rarely troubled and Josh Gaggini did a fantastic job again in front of the defence.
The second half became a bit fragmented but I was able to get Hill back on and give valuable match time to Rory Shroll and Ben Greenwood who both did well in the closing stages.
