The club had its very first training session back on 27th April 1997 with brothers Brian & Gary Clair,brother-in-law Ian Wood together with the legendary Jimmy Woods setting the foundation block for the kids of Anfield and Everton areas of Liverpool to play junior football at a grassroot level.
Richmond has grown over the years and now comprises an Open Age team, containing some of the original players from 1997, the u18s teams has now left the fold as has last seasons first team Manager, Jamal Dermott, which leaves the ship to be steered once again by Jimmy Woods and John Doyle.
Last years hard work was nothing on this years, with a new ground taking centre stage as Richmond poured all their efforts over the last two months in keeping this magnificent club afloat. The non-stop effort was rewarded this week to the delight of the management team, when an agreement with Childwall Sports College was cemented which will see the club move home for the fifth successive season (hopefully its last - as the Cheshire sides were starting to call us the "Scouse Nomads!"). A new drainage system costing £50k has already been put in place for the forthcoming campaign which should see the last of an end-of-season fixture pile up - which cost the club its promotion place in the last three weeks of the 08/09 season.
