It is with great sadness that the club has to announce its resignation of its YOUTH side from the West Cheshire AF Youth league.
Escalating costs and increased workload mean that not enough resources are available to continue with the Youth sides involvement in the current 2008-09 campaign and unfortunately with a massive lump in my throat have to acknowledge that the club will now have to downsize to be able to survive in the current climate before they will once again be able to expand their empire across the region.
For those of you who have donned a Richmond kit in the junior ranks over the past 12yrs, in either the Anfield JSL or Tuebrook JSL, I thank you personally for your support and commitment and will endeavour to fly the flag on your behalf in the third division of the West Cheshire AF League, before once again unearthing the talent around the local areas and bringing the Richmond Raith Rovers name back to the top of the ladder in the junior scene.
After last weeks washout, the majority of the West Cheshire teams kicked their first ball in the 'over the water' league for the first time.
Six great matches took place in what looks likely to be an enthralling season to come.
Next week - Magull are hosts to RICHMOND RAITH ROVERS JACOBS, where hopefully the away side can notch their first of many goals in this division. ko11.00am

The u16s team left their beloved Liverpool and headed off to Shrewsbury for a fantastic weekend enjoyed by everyone involved - even the hairless manager! ("He's got no hair, we don't care, JIMMY JIMMY WOODS")
There were numerous highlights across the 3 days with the newly acclaimed fan clubs autograph signing escapade (as Rovers are now in the Vauxhall Conference?) probably shattering the dreams of the many youngsters who'd queued up to have their shirts autographed by the stars of tomorrow once reality finally sinks in to the gullible youngsters!
We recommend Boreatton Park for any football club wanting to "do a bit of bonding" as the lads had a rest from their weekly chores to relax and take time out to do something a bit out of the norm:
kayaking, archery, assault course, 40ft high ropes, rope swing, rifle shooting, zip wire
and a football match fitted in against the PGL (Pretty Gay Looking) staff to round up the break.
The only thing you have to watch is getting stuck in the tunnel on the assault course, but everything should be OK as long as your lads don't fill in the exit at the other end!!!
100% excellence for bringing the squad together.
