Riverside RAR started out in 2007 and played their first competitive game on 3rd March in the Blake Cup, Russell Foster Third Division. They scored an incredible 65 goals in 13 games and conceded just the 6. This achievement saw the lads go straight into the First Division for the 2007/08 season.
The pre season prior to the 2007/08 season, Riverside won the Wheatley Hill and reached the Quarter Finals of the Norton and Stockton Ancients Tournaments.
Riverside RAR then went on to finish 3rd in DIvision One, thus getting promotion to the Premier League, losing only 6 games throughout the campaign and scoring 94 goals along the way. The corresponding mini season which followed, saw Riverside finish a respectable 10th in the League out of 20 teams, tasting top flight football for the first time.
The 2008/09 season was the best season to date with a pre season runners up place at Leam Rangers, a Quarter-Final place in the League Cup, a Semi-Final place of the Chairmans Shield, finishing 7th in the Premier League, plus adding an end of season tournament at Haggerston Castle where the lads reached the final.
The 2009/10 season has seen Riverside maintain their Premiership status and being the top team in Chester le Street. Pre season started well with the lads winning the Corus Cup 2009 at Redcar only conceding two goals in three hours of football.
They have also maintained their premiership status for the 2010/11 season by finishing again in mid-table. The boys also went one better and were crowned Champions of Haggerston Castle 2010.
