The Rodborough Youth FC team known as 'The Eagles' will go into the 2010/11 season as the U14 team at the club.
Formed as part of Rodborough YFC Academy at Stratford Court, Stroud back in 2002 the team played in the Cotswold Friendly league as U8s in 2004/05.
As the U9 season started two teams were entered into the MidGlosMiniSoccerLeague, one known as Rodborough Bears and the other Rodborough Eagles.
The Eagles finished 3rd in the Central League with a spot at the finals for coming 4th out of 30-ish teams for fairplay and good sportsmanship.
The following U10s season saw the Eagles finish 4th but get all the way to the semi-finals of the cup, beaten narrowly by Ashelworth Woodpeckers who went on to beat Forest Green Rovers in the final at Gloucester City's ground.
2007/08 U11s saw the mighty Eagles finish 2nd in the league, play in the Champions League Finals and win the RYFC 6aside tournament.
Full size football in the Stroud & District Youth League U12s 2008/2009 saw the Eagles play at Rodborough Pavillion, Butterow West, Rodborough overlooking the upper town of Stroud. A top half finish and over 100 goals marked a great first season of 11a-side football.
2009/2010 in the Stroud & District Youth League U13s saw a league of 12 teams containing Minchinhampton, Wotton Rovers, Stonehouse, Wickwar, Charfield, Cam Everside, Eastcombe, Thornbury, Slimbridge, Kings Stanley and Frampton.
A dissappointing semi-final exit of the Red Cross Cup was soon forgotten about with the Eagles in blistering post-Christmas form including a memorable 8-5 away win on the Ed Coach's 40th Birthday, a tremendous 3rd place in the league and winning the StroudLeague six-a-side tournament.
2010/11 will see The U14 Eagles play in the Stroud League, the Stroud & Swindon Cup, and the GFA County Cup.
COME ON YOU EAGLES !
