AFC Victoria were formed (as Abington Bohemians) in the summer of 1996 by Stewart Henderson-Burton and Martin Lewis. After struggling for the first few seasons, the name change to Romany FC helped to turn our fortunes around. After a few years of mid-table obscurity and a handful of Cup Semi-Finals, Romany finally won some silverware when they won the Sunday League Division 1 title in the summer of 2004; remaining unbeaten throughout the season. Romany went on to claim more silverware in 2005/2006 season winning the Sunday Conference Division two title.
We are well-organised club in our 14th season and were awarded FA Charter Standard in December 2005 and again in December 2008.
The club received local and national exposure in June 2007 when FourFourTwo magazine did a 4-page article on the club
The club left the Romany in the 2008/09 season after nearly 13 years when landlady and long time supporter of the club, Bernie Clark, left the pub (after the sad death of Brian a couple of years earlier). Alan Lynn at the Vic made us very welcome and we bacame AFC Victoria in the summer of 2009.
A veterans team was also added in the summer of 2009
