Rosehill United's beginnings go back to late 2006 when the club was first formed by Scott Burns and Alan MacDonald.
Formed with a number of friends who played for amateur teams Glasgow United and SPH United between 2000 and 2006. Burns and MacDonald felt they could create a team that could compete at the highest level of amateur football.
Home in 2007, was Renfrew Sports Centre. The official team colours were black with white trim, with a committee of four running the team and Andy Reid appointed the clubs first official manager. The club's philosophy at it's formation was to play football the proper way and to breed a fantastic friendly atmosphere through the whole squad. We are proud to say that 3 years later this is still the same philosophy and many of our players have stayed with the club. We hope that in seven years time many of those players will be having their testimonials.
As Rosehill United was at its earliest stages and were wondering how they would get all the equiptment required to set up a competitive football club The Q Club stepped up with a very welcome donation to get the ball rolling and give Rosehill a much needed financial boost. To this day The Q Club remains a partner and sponsor of Rosehill United and provide an excellent service to the clubon matchdays and for fundraising events and functions.
The club performed well in the Glasgow Colleges Division Two winning fifteen out of twenty two games losing six and drawing one. United finished a very commendable third in the league only four points out of the promotion places and five points behind eventual winners Olympique Energetik.
Rosehill adapted well to the rigours of Saturday morning league football and with a bit of luck could easily have gained promotion to the First Division.
The Hill's first season probably finished a bit too early for us as we were on a seven game winning streak that was showing no signs of ending.
After a slow start to season 2008/09, losing the first two games, Rosehill went on a twelve league game unbeaten streak in the league.
January to April then saw Rosehill go on another nine game unbeaten run and put them in contention for not only promotion but the Championship.
Heartache was to come when bitter rivals snatched the Championship from Rosehill's grasp with only three minutes to spare in the final game that took them one point ahead of the Hill in a very tightly contested Division Two Championship.
Rosehill then had that bitter sweet moment of earning themselves promotion to the top division for the first time in the club's history but narrowly missing out on winner's medals finishing in second place.
This to date is Rosehill's most successful season.
The 09/10 league campaign was probably one to forget for The Hill. With one exception, notably an 8 nil drubbing by Central, Rosehill were never truly beaten by a team, with most points dropped due to our own silly mistakes or failure to take our chances. In essence Rosehill survived their first outing in Division One whilst making a fair few established teams uncomfortable along the way. And in the 10/11 season The Hill will be looking to turning a lot of defeats and draws into convincing victories.
An ever changing team lineup and personnel changes disrupted the flow of the season and The Hill survived a relegation scare within the last couple of games, finishing a respectable eighth. Good for the first time ever playing in a league ful of experienced First Division teams.
As far as cup competitions go Rosehill were the form team of the season. In the League Cup the team finished a top of their league section undefeated. They even scalped potential treble winners and holders Central AFC in an historic victory on the way to a dissappointingly poor semi-final performance against St Andrews.
In the GCFA Cup the squad did marginally better but failed to clinch their first honour, beaten on a memorable and sunny afternoon at Toryglen. This competition seen a fair few memorable victories, one in the semi over local rivals Meadow Athletic, clinching it in sudden death penalties.
