Last game of the season versus Pro Future RED who are currently top of the league.
It was always going to be a tough game. For the majority of the game Pro Future were on the offensive with Wasps defending well. Lleyton Belstop in goals made some good saves and coupled with a few Pro Future bad misses the game was goaless at half time. It could have been better for Wasps as a well worked move saw Sonny Beardsworth narrowly shoot wide...
Second half followed a similar pattern with Wasps continuing to hold out and try and attack on the break. With maybe five minutes left, the home team scored a scrappy goal from a corner where the ball 'ping ponged' round the area and ending up in the net.
The game then rather petered out and ended 1-0 to the home team. MOM was Joshua Marsden and there were also good displays from Lewis Jordan and Ben Roberts.
Wasps competed well with a good side and everyone showed 100% effort albeit this game showed more than most that a couple of shrewd transfer dealings may be required through the summer.
On the whole a satisfactory first season in the top league with Wasps beating 4/5 of the leagues top teams but struggling against the teams in around and below them. If the squad can be improved for next season and a strict training regime through the summer, there's no reason why Wasps cant push for a top three position in this league next season.....
