Rossendale after an impressive cup campaign went back to league fixtures with a visit to Woodbank. Rossendale from the word go put Woodbank under massive amounts of pressure. It seemed only a matter of time before they would score. The break through happened when Rhys Barton performed a magical turn and slipped the ball past a very competent Woodbank keeper. This opened the flood gates and Barton bagged 3 goals by the end of the game an excellent performance from the inform winger. Ben Lyth also bagged a goal when he smashed the ball in from close range giving the keeper no chance. Max Cunningham was unlucky not to get on the score line with an excellent long range effort that rattled the post. Salmaan Zaman scored a poachers goal rebounding a shot into the goal. Woodbank managed to get hit Rossendale on the break to get a consolation goal only for central midfielder Jacob Holland Wilkinson to get a quick brace to add to his ever expanding tally for the season. This was a comfortable performance from Rossendale with defenders Locki Milner and Ben Gammack working hard and rookie goal keeper Ricco Gavan making a number of excellent saves.
Man of the Match deservedly went to an extremely skilful Rhys Barton
