Grass roots football team {see attachment}

We started last year with players from as young as 5 years old as part of the clubs "grass roots" football programme as part of the clubs charter standard development programme.
We entered them into the St Anne's football tournament over this weekend. Unfortunately there was no u6`s section in the tournament so we decided to put them in the u7`s section. Wow, what a result, played six, won three and drew 3 and finished top of the league. The players were outstanding, in one game we played 5 at the back, defending like mad then we had one corner and scored a goal direct from Alex Ogilvie`s kick. The president of the club Mr Stephen Haworth was there to enjoy the celebrations and said" this is what we needed in Rossendale, grass roots football is essential to the development of the club and players and this just shows how the qualified coaches have managed to develop the player through good coaching sessions giving the players self-confidence, team play and enjoyment". I would also like to say well done to all the other teams from Rossendale Valley JFC who took part in the weekend tournament".
The players were Lewis Wynn, Harry Partington, Alex Ogilvie, Kyle White, Sam Heathcote, Tray turner, Jamie Sanderson, Connor Vickers, Pele & Rio Riley. Well done to all the other teams from Rossendale Valley who took part in the tournament.
