RVJFC Established January 2003 (10/12/08)
A LFA CHARTER STANDARD CLUB
Linked with: Oswaldtwistle St. Mary`s FC and BURNLEY F.C. We gained Chartered Standard Club recognition in October 2007 and then sucessfully applied for Charter Standard Development Status in August 2008 thanks to all the hard work by the Club President Stephen Haworth.
RVJFC Club History:
Established: January 2003
President: Stephen Haworth
Head Coach: Austin Haworth Qualified Level 2 Coach December 2007.
The original Rossendale Valley JFC had 3 independent club members (Under 15`s, U14`s & U13`s) run by three individuals. This meant a gap was being created in the continuality of the Club therefore we thought it would be a good idea to keep all the teams under one “Umbrella” and to start again at Under 9`s level. As the only qualified coach available at the time Stephen Haworth {SH} took on the job. The squad consisted of 12 kids - see picture. The club has now developed ten fold over a very short peroid of time due to the hard work put in by Steve & Linda Haworth, along with the son Austin and thenkfully now with the huge support we get form all the "Volunteers" involved with RVJFC.
2008 The club has: 1: EIGHT teams representing RVJFC in the Accrington & District League 2: Club Jacket for all members 3: A “New” web site – designed by Stephen Haworth 4: 20 qualified Level 1 coaches – CRB checked Basic first aid certificate Child Protection certificate 5: An established Committee with A Chairperson - Stephen Hindle A Treasurer - Stephen Haworth A Secretary - Linda Haworth A Child Protection Officers - Stephen Haworth Club Welfare Officer - Stephen Haworth Several Club Officials {ALL qualified coaches} Michael Pollard Michael Taylor Andrew Horrocks David Tonge Daniel Belcher Tom English Craig Watts Ed Mullarkey Mark Chaloner Colin Bateson Lawrene Brooks Chris O`neill Club Welfare Officer - Stephen Haworth 6: Several volunteers Danu Pollard Steve Carr Lisa O`Neill 7: TWELVE LFA qualified referees 8: Strips sponsored by GRANFIX + Shoeworl + BRIDGE CATERING + "musbury fabrics" + Turfcote + "Premier Transport" + The Duckworth Inn + TRUK + MAD Blinds + BARCLAYS 9: Official fund raiser - Ed Mullarkey 10: “LFA Charter Standard” recognition achieved - OCTOBER 2007. 11. "LFA Charter Standard Development Status" awarded in August 2008.
Important As from May 2006 our youth teams {16+} are now amalgamated with Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s FC youth and senior teams. We will be under the banner of Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s FC who have a 1st team and Reserve team {Manager - Steve Haworth} playing in the East Lancashire league and an "A Team" side in the Accrington Combination league. This will give all the players from both Rossendale Valley JFC, Haslingden JFC and Oswaldtwistle JFC to continue playing competitive football after they are too old for the junior section. RVJFC/OSMFC under 17s team 2006/07 came 3rd in 2004/05 and then finished 2nd in 2005/06 scoring 96 goals for the season but finally finished top of the league in 2006/07 and CUP winners. Good luck lads in your future. "The GAFFER"
Archives "2008" Rossendale Valley U9s Orange are in contention for league title. U11s finish in top half - superb U12s have their highest league place - 3rd. All the RVJFC teams have shown character in their games this season and represented the club to a high standard.
