The club was formed and became members of the Hartlepool & District Sunday League in the late 1960s.Rovers reached their first cup final in the late 1970s finishing runners up. In the late 1980s Rovers were promoted to the premiership after winning the Division 1 Title, but after only one season they were relegated back to Division 1. They bounced back again winning the Division 1 Title and also the Divisional cup.The club has since gone on from strength to strength winning numerous League Titles and Cups. However the 2004/05 season was an outstanding achievement for Rovers, they finished as the Premier League Champions for the third successive season and also captured the Colin Lyver Premier Cup, The John Dowson Cup as well as reaching the Durham County Sunday Cup Final when they finished runners up to a strong Sunderland JWS Side.
Rovers finished the 2005/06 season as Premier League Champions for the fourth consecutive season and also retained the Colin Lyver League Cup, The Billy Bell Memorial Cup and also the Arthur Gibbon Memorial Shield.
Rovers started the 2006/07 season on a winning note by retaining the Arthur Gibbon Memorial Shield 2.0 against local league rivals Supporters Athletic on the opening day of the season.
