History

Rowhedge F.C
29 Aug 2008

Rowhedge were originally known as the Posties and were formed in 2000. The team was the brainwave of a drunken night out with friends Tom Rothery and Sean Barham. They entered the Saturday Colchester and East Essex league Division 4. In our first season with Daylight as manager we won the championship. The season after saw Sean take charge and during his spell the club reached the top division. In the 2005-06 season we won the league and cup double and the following season we retained the league cup. During the 2006-07 season Sean stepped down and Alan Jeal took over with the help of Mark Galloway. Mark eventually took over from Alan before the end of the season. The 2007-08 season saw us become Rowhedge and we entered the Essex and Suffolk Border league. In our first season in Division 1 we finished eleventh. In the season 2008-09 Daylight again became the Manager with Mark Galloway becoming his assistant. We came 5th in 08-09 season, which saw a big improvement in playing staff and performances but too many drawn games cost them a crack at the title. In season 2009-10 we improved playing staff and performances again which saw us come 2nd and gain promotion to the Border Premier division and senior football.
