First Month of the Season [15 Sep @ 7:39pm]

A bit of a funny start to the season. Pre season gave all the indications that this season can be a succesful one. We scored goals by the boatload but also conceded many sloppy and needless goals. We have scored 15 goals in our first 4 games but conceded 11 - 9 of them from set pieces! We have signed Karl James and Chris Waite from division one clubs the Vic and La Caruna respectively to stregthen our back line in both quality and numbers. We are always liable to concede on occasion purely down to the attacking formation we play and the general attacking qualities our players possess. But 11 in 4 is way too many. We have not dwindled in player numbers and our squad still stands at 24 players. At the moment it looks like it can work well as we have used almost 20 players thus far and the quality in depth is a great improvement on last season. Hopefully all the players will stay interested, and although there will be some frustration for a few who will not play as much as they expect - I hope everyone understands how necessary it is to have such a big squad and are prepared to wait and bide their time for their chance, it WILL definetely come. We have a few difficult fixtures coming up but we should be more than able to hold our own and hopefully keep accumulating points and move through the rounds of the cups!!
