Saffron Rangers made it five wins out of five since they lost to the same opponents in early January 2012. On that occasion Rangers didn’t turn up on the day & lost 2 – 0.
The return fixture for Rangers started in exactly the same fashion, with 20 minuets on the clock Rangers could not find their normal free flowing passing game. Eventually the first good move from Rangers gave Phil Dillon a chance just inside the opposition box & he finished it expertly, sliding the ball into the far corner of the net. Having taken the lead Rangers then started to move the ball around with more confidence creating several good chances. The second goal however was a brilliant solo effort from the ever improving Ellaldsingham. Picking the ball up on the left wing he beat 3 Ambassador players as he powered his way into the box before shooting low into the bottom corner. This gave the home side a 2-0 lead at half time. In the second half Rangers where more composed & retained possession allowing them to build attack after attack. Ojumu made it 3 -0 with a tap in after a great delivery from the impressive Meichen & it was Meichen who scored Rangers fourth from the spot after Rust was brought down in the box. Ambassadors did manage a late consolation goal which was gifted to them & prevented Foster in the home goal from keeping a deserved clean sheet.
Leke Ojumu scored a hat trick as Rangers swept aside Duxford res, at the weekend. A goal after 2 minuets from fit again Andy White & strikes from Phil Dillon & Elliott Meichen gave the home side a comfortable afternoon. Now Rangers have to carry this form on week in week out to enable them to climb up the div 4a table.
A consistent team, with squad players that is the key ask Andy White. He has been injured for 3 months came back to early but stuck at it. Didn't complain just got on with the job, turned up to training & matches every week & on Saturday when his chance came he delivered. What a great way to play a great team game, something that everyone in the squad should take note of.
Leke Ujumu scored twice as Rangers make the quartes finals of the John Ablett Cup.
A brillant team performance gave Rangers a comforatable 5 -2 win with goals from Ujumu 2 , Dillon, Meichen & Essingham.
Saffron Rangers hit 5 for the second week running, including a contender for goal of the season from Phil Dillon.
Gt Paxton must be sick of the sight of Rangers as they have now lost on 3 occasions & conceded 19 goals.
A fine all round performance from the team, had great goals, good movement, concentration, & a battling desire to win the game that has not always been apparent this season.
