Within 1 minute Sale were ahead with a great strike from Ben. Soon after another great chance as their goalie dropped the ball and Tom and Mattie homed in. After 20minutes a ball over the top of their defence let Tom in for number 2. Both Richard and Ben had a couple of good efforts and Sale looked comfortable. Chris trying out his new boots put in some good looking crosses. Some interesting refereeing decisions lead to a Partington penalty which none of their players had appealed for just before half time. The teams came in 2-1 to Sale at half time although Sale-s heads had been turned by the dodgy penalty decision. Partington came out all guns blazing in the second half, Aaron athletically saved a couple of shots after Partington bombarded Sale from corners. Mattie T, Tom and Jordan got close but even Aarons heroics could not stop the onslaught and inevitably they scored after about 15minutes from a good header. Liam was courageous at the back throwing himself into every challenge and header, even bleeding for the team from a head injury. A free header led to their 3rd goal and then they got a 4th after a poor clearnce led to a spectacualr strike by them. Sale head were down and with only minutes to go super sub Sam came on to score our 3rd with his first touch. The ref clearly hadn-t borrowed Fergie-s watch and decided to blow up with 2 minutes to go. Overall it was an exciting game of definately 2 halves.
