Change of Training Night. (07/09/2006)

Fellas - please be aware that now the season has started training has switched to Wednesday nights at 7pm at Mill Lane.

Mixed Emotions After Opening Day!!! (05/09/2006)

There was good news and bad news for Rovers after the opening day of season this past Saturday. The Reserves were unfortunate to be on the end of a 3-1 reverse at Fowlmere Res, young Dean Miller the scorer. The first team won 2-0 at home to Fowlmeres first team with goals from David Negus and Steve Henderson to keep their good run of form going from pre season. This week sees the first team entertain Girton United Res at the Lane at 3pm with the ressies having no fixture. Ted "Bassett" Smith will be in charge of the Rovers side because manager Bob Rule will be at his grandaughters christening - hopefully Ted can keep up his 100% record as caretaker manager from last season.

Rovers 50th season shirts avaliable now!!! (26/08/2006)

You can now purchase 50th season commemorative t shirts and polo shirts. Priced at £16 for a polo and £12 for a t shirt they are available in red or blue and have they new club badge embroidered on the left chest. If you wish the purchase one of these please see a commitee member or your team manager for an order form, or leave an email on the contact us option on this webpage. However no orders will be honoured without payment in advance.

Info for new season. (26/08/2006)

Could all players please be aware that due to the rise in pitch and referee fees for the coming season the club has had to raise the price of match fees from the current £3 to £4. This was decided after much discussion at the AGM and although it was not a favoured course of action by the club it is neccessary if the club wishes to survive. In addition would all players who STILL owe outstanding match fees and dinner dance money from last season please be forthcoming with this as it is a thankless task for the commitee to chase you for money, remember - the club has already forked out the money you owe so it is needed in to keep the club afloat!!!

Change of Training Venue Next Week!!! (21/07/2006)

Don`t forget fellas this coming Tuesday nights training (25th July) is on the astroturf at Sawston Village College between 7pm and 9pm. The two hours will cost £50 so bring some money and obviously the more of us there is the cheaper it will be for everyone.

Good Start!!! (20/07/2006)

Good to see everyone back for pre season training at The Lane last night. All the regulars returned along with a couple of new faces and some returning faces who want to make a return to the club after going out on loan!! Thanks for all your support and lets keep the numbers up and have a really good pre season so we hit the ground running come September 2nd!!!!

Training Starts!!!! (20/07/2006)

Pre season training will begin this coming Tuesday 11th July at 7pm on Mill Lane. Any new players are more than welcome to join the current squads as they prepare for the new campaign. Training will take place every Tuesday and Thursday until the beginning of the season when it will switch to Wednesdays.

50th Year Celebration!!! (20/07/2006)

Sawston Rovers FC will be celebrating their 50th season in the 06/07 season since they were founded in 1957. The current committee invite all former players, managers, committee members and supporters to join the current squads and their managers at a 50th year gala presentation dinner on Saturday June 2nd 2007 at Chilford Hall, Linton.
