On this frost and cold morning, Seaton Carew recovered to produce a draw in a well played top table clash against League Division 2 third placed Stokesley 'B' and came away with a well deserved point.
The game started very well for Seaton Carew with some great football being played from the off. The passing was flowing and Seaton began to be the leaders in the first 20 minutes of this game. Some one touch football from Josh Brison, Daniel Roberts & Jamie Tumilty brilliantly set up Joe Osborne to finish in a fantastic move along the right side of the field.
Stokesley 'B' 0-1 Seaton Carew.
This unfortunately for Seaton was short lived when a Stokesley player (Isaac White) broke through the off side trap to slot home past the ever improving Reuben Shephard who could not do anything to stop the shot.
Stokesley 'B' 1-1 Seaton Carew.
Seaton's confidence was knocked down after this goal and seemed to be just plodding through the motions. Stokesley began to get first to every ball and some lack of concentration and marking from Seaton allowed the home side to take the lead with a fine finish from James Foster Conlon.
Stokesley 'B' 2-1 Seaton Carew.
A very much needed talk to the Seaton boys at half time saw them re-group and get themselves back into the game.
This second half saw a much improved Seaton team and things started to look up for the away side. Chances broke to both teams and if it wasn't for Reuben Shephard with not just one but many brilliant saves, as he kept the team in this top tie match. Reuben was tipping the ball over the bar, stopping close range shots and clearing his lines with great perseverance.
Fortunately Seaton kept trying to get the much needed equalizer, and from a scramble in the box it fell to Daniel Roberts who slotted the ball past three Stokesley players to get the much needed draw.
Stokesley 'B' 2-2 Seaton Carew.
This was not an easy fixture to play and you all played well considering the conditions of the pitch and cold conditions.
Getting a point away from home is a great result considering the opposition is right on our toes for second spot.
Very well done boys in a gritty performance.
