History

Club History

Formed in 2003 under the name Heathway by Paul Smith & Mark Elkins aka Maca they
enjoyed much success in cups and won promotion every season since been formed.
Underwent a minor change by changing name to Shard End Brookmeadow & apart from this
until 2005/2006 little had changed

A reshuffle in the 2005/2006 season saw Wayne Elcock take over as the new player manager with maca assisting along
with some new players Wayne brought in to strengthen squad

club folded and reformed
2006/2007 season

Shard End Royals will now be Thimblemill Rec's feeder team which is a major coup for our club.

This will give the players of Shard End a real chance to mix at a much higher level under the
guidance of manager Marcus McDonald who has quickly rebuilt and is making a name for
himself at Thimblemill and has turned them into serious championship contenders for this
coming season.

2006 The team changed its name to Shard End Royals and has undergone a major face lift on all fronts.
With Manger Wayne Elcock sponsoring Royals and getting sponsorship to provide extra kit and finances.
Royals now have new quality Nike home and Adidas away strips,
Club also have new matching Navy and white Sergio tachini tracksuits,t-shirts and bags provided and helped towards lowering the cost by workout sports to provide this top of the range quality sports wear.

Royals now have a very impressive set up and have welcomed on board some quality new players some coming to us courtesy of our new partnership with Thimblemill.
Royals have a completly new side with only 4 members from the Brookmeadow side that Wayne took over still playing for Wayne

Sponsorship has came from Ringside promotions ,Wayne Elcock,Chester Arms and pertemps and is greatly appreciated and without there help would not have been possible.

Royals first Game as a new outfit was a friendly against highly rated Knowle reserves of the mid com 2. Winning 3-2 and have since gone on to maintain a 100% record in pre season friendlys with 4 out of 4 wins.
All games played were away from home and more impressive was nearly all bar one of the teams we played against were from much higher leagues.
So far so good for the Royals who are looking at a succesfull season and capturing our first league trophy and the first of many hopefully in this new clubs history

Previous Seasons

2006/2007
Wayne took full control and brought in many new faces only 6 players remained from the previous Brookmeadow side S Ivison the Brooke brothers,J Smith, and L Villers
The team now played under the name of Shard End Royals and after some early teething problems Royals went on a fatastic run staying unbeaten in 20 matches and picking up the clubs first ever league title and also the Bruce Fryer cup to cap a remarkable first season

2005/2006
Manager resigned and team ending up picking itself some weeks
Wayne Elcock was asked to become manager near end of the season and maca was assisting him
despite all what had happened the lads still managed to pull together and still produced with sometimes the bare eleven to pick from
Finished season as runners up by just a solitary point losing one game to the eventual league winners and drawing two gaining promotion to Division one

2004/2005 Season Sutton and District Division 3
Can be very happy in only our second season. We finished 2nd in the league gaining promotion to division 2 .And winning the league Cup and were quater finalists in the Birmingham cup

2003-2004 Sutton an District division 4
First season in league as Heathway name now changed to Shard End Brookmeadow . And bar the name and a few new players everything else remains the same And can be very satisfied with first season finishing in 3 rd place and were Divisional cup winners (Dauncy cup)
