ARE BACKING THE KEEP IT SHUT CAMPAIGN

This club was formed in October 2004 with the help of the following companies who sponsored them.PJ Careys Construction & Fraser Tool Hire Ltd & MJ Cantwell & D.Boyd Catering & Martin Plant Hire & ARM Architects & Ocean Flooring Services. These companies supplied bibs, strips, nets & balls & waterbottles. Without these sponsors there would be no Shawhead Football Club, also through fund raising we were able to buy training kits & subjackets & coach jackets .Last year we entered the Daily Record & CIS promotion to get free kits for players. We done this no problem, and got new tracksuits & rainjackets & strips. Highlights of first season in the LANARKSHIRE YMCA YFL was finishing 5th out of 14 teams. Our biggest win of that season was 11-2 & our biggest loss was 7-0. And the team went on a 17 game unbeaten run.In February 2006 the under 15s obtained a sponsorship deal with Goldie Buildbase of Airdrie with many thanks to Rupert Armes the branch manager. We entered the Carbrain B.C Tournament in June and we won the Under 14s Plate, after beating Whifflet Athletic B.C 6-0 in the final, we then played 4 friendlys and won them all, even beating a Under 16s team 4-2. We started the new season at Under 15s level , and are currently sitting top of our division with 3 games to play. We recently lost in the 3rd round of the Regional Cup to Livingston United Star & also lost in the 3rd round of the Scottish cup to Celtic B.C. The club recently started up two younger teams at, sadly one folded at under 12s age group. things are looking good as there is good players in amongst the players in these age groups we have now added a 3rd team at under 11s. The Under 15s recently obtained a sponsorship deal with Lifting Logistics Crane Hire Ltd of Coatbridge . And most recently we added a under 7s team which started training on the 6th october.The training for the newly formed under 7s has been going really well, we have a dedicated pool of 12 players who turn up every week for there training, this team is open to boys and girls.Well we have two under 7s teams now, a reds squad and a whites squad,as the amount of players in these squads are 30. The reds train on a saturday & the whites train on a sunday, both these squads train at the Kirkwood Sports Barn, from 12pm to 2pm. We are trying to attract new sponsors for both the Under 7s teams & Under 16s, and ask any interested companies to contact by email at andymac_38@hotmail.com.The Under 7s REDS recieved a sponsorship deal with AMD CONSTRUCTION, with many thanks to ROBERT MCEWAN & FAMILY.They also recieved a sponsorship from A.C JARDINE DEMOLITIONS LIMITED, many thanks to CUNNINGHAM THOMPSON the owner,who has also decided to sponsor the whites squad as well, The club recently added a Under 8s team to there number of teams,and we would like to welcome George Canavan and his players & parents to the club.This team is also looking for a sponsorship contact Andy MCintyre via the website.
We are now running a under 9s team, which will play at under 10s level for season 2008/2009. so from 2 teams in 2004, we now have 7 teams in 2008.
