Well what a game.

The Semi-Final against Jolly Friar was always going to be a tough fixture and Shepley proved they were more than up to the occassion.

The game saw lots of chances with the majority falling to Shepley as well as a number of one-on-ones with the Jolly Friar keeper coming out on top each time. For the most part Jolly Friar were kept to the occassional long shot and corner.

A full 90 minutes passed and no goals, this felt like it had Penalty Shoot Out written all over it.

Extra time saw both teams battling it out with injuries and fatigue starting to show. And so it was 10 minutes from time that Jolly Friar broke the deadlock and hit home. Five minutes later they sealed their victory with a stonking free kick that left Matt stranded. 2-0 Jolly Friar and Shepley were ruining their chances. Good luck to the Friar lads in the final.

Well I went home with a smile on my face, we may have lost but I felt that we gave our all and there were a number of outstanding performances, I was proud and if it turns out to be Shepley-s final game, well then what a game.

A few of you will now be heading into retirement or pastures new (I wish you all the best of luck in the future), it would be good to get feedback for those that would like to remain at the club and lets see if we can make things work for 2011/12 (failing any firm commitments and someone willing to step in to manage the team, I won-t be doing anything further).
