Managers update on Whitehaven

To win the opening fixture by 6 has got to make any manager pleased and we certainly were after Saturday. We had them watched the previous week against Celtic Nation, a team tipped by many to win the league, and they got beat 3-2 so we were expecting a very difficult tie, furthermore Whitehaven always start the season well. As it happens the game was over within 15 minutes and my biggest challenge was keeping the lads focused to deliver a professional performance. Some of our football at times was breath taking, as it was up at Blyth, but we also have a bit of work to do making sure we are difficult to break down when the opposition have their dominant spells during a game. A week is a long time in football and we now have a very tough game at Dunston but the lads will be well prepared and we are hopefully of going there and getting a good result
